This irks me. I sent a "Comment" asking why there was no anthropology. I'll let you know if I hear back.
Ah, there is nothing so fascinating as a talking head.
I just wrote a short little something about how nobody has ever heard of anthropology (I know, this is an exaggeration). I get questions every day from people wondering exactly what it is that I am studying, and what the practical applications are. There is a definite PR issue with anthropology. And this seems to be yet another indicator of that fact. While it's important to push the boundaries within the field, it's also important to push the message beyond it, IMO.
So, put one of your lectures online.
It would be nice if we got some respect, huh?
Well, it looks like we're all going to have to do something about it, and find ways to increase the respect and knowledge of anthropology. Sounds like a project to me...but a worthwhile one.
